READATHON CHALLENGES

• Readathon Kickoff: Read on Sunday, 1/23 and submit reading minutes to get your start on the Readathon mural—make sure to write your name on the star you brought home and return to your teacher
• Reach Reading Goal: Reach your reading goal to receive a reading-themed spirit stick
• Exceed Reading Goal: Exceed your reading goal to be a "Monster Reader" and receive a monster keychain
• Student with Most Minutes @ Each Grade Level: 1 student at each grade level will receive a $5.00 Scholastic Dollars gift certificate
• MORE House with Most Minutes: The MORE House with the most overall reading minutes win The Golden Book
• Just One More Chapter Challenge with Mrs. Koopman: Students sign up as an individual or as a team to challenge Mrs. Koopman in beating her reading goal of 600 minutes.
  • The challenge starts on 1/23 and ends on 1/27. The last day to sign up for this challenge is Tuesday, 1/25. 
  • Students sign up in the Readathon Google Classroom.
  • For teams, there is a 3 person maximum. They will have to list their teammates in the form.
  • Winning students get to vote on a character from a predetermined list for Mrs. Koopman to dress as on a chosen day.

READATHON DAILY ACTIVITIES

• Sunday, January 23, 2022: Readathon Kickoff --> Submit reading minutes for this day and return your star (with your name on it) to be placed on the Readathon mural
• Monday, January 24, 2022: Do MORE & Donate a Book --> Students receive 10 MORE points for each donated book
• Tuesday, January 25, 2022: Black, White and RE(A)D All Over --> Students wear black, white, and red clothing
• Wednesday, January 26, 2022: Reading Under the Stars @ Home --> Students read at home and post photos on PTA's Facebook page
• Thursday, January 27, 2022: 100th Day of School Read-In @ Norton Cafeteria --> This is an evening event from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. where popcorn will be served
• Friday, January 28, 2022: Last day for students to submit their reading minutes either online or on paper.

READATHON READING GOAL

• Students will set reading goals with the classroom teachers on January 21, 2022.
• Students who still need to set their reading goals can do so by completing this form: https://forms.gle/oxN8FiMrbXwX7Lpf6.

READATHON READING MINUTES

• Students will submit reading minutes starting on Sunday, January 23, 2022 through Google Classroom or by submitting the paper form at the Front Office.
