Hello Norton Knight Families!

Welcome to the last issue of the Knightly Newsletter for this school year. Add the important dates below to your calendar for the fall. Details will be in the newsletter.

Remember to order school supply kits. Students will bring the kits with them to Meet the Teacher Night (aka 'Back to the Castle') on Monday, August 5th from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm. The first day of school is Wednesday, August 7th. Watch your inboxes around the end of July for important school forms.

For those who want to volunteer at Norton this fall, submit or renew your Allen ISD Volunteer Application starting on July 1st. You can join the PTA for the 2024-2025 school year online starting on August 1st.

Kindergarten Orientation and the Kindergarten Social are at the beginning of August. We can't wait to meet the new knights and families.

We'd love to see Norton families come out to support and cheer on our teachers at the Welcome Back Faculty Pep Rally before Convocation at Allen High School on Wednesday, July 31.

REMEMBER TO ORDER SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Supply kits ship directly to your home. Remember to choose the kit for the grade level your student will attend for the 2024-2025 school year.

We have partnered with SchoolToolBox.com to provide the following:

1. For every kit purchased, you are helping donate a meal towards Feed My Starving Children.
2. Teacher grade level wishlists have been created to buy extra supplies for your teachers that are needed throughout the year.
3. You can choose to leave out supplies from the kit that you already have at home, but they need to be exactly what the list is asking for (including the brand). Teachers ask for certain supplies for a reason. Please purchase the whole kit, if you are not for certain.

Remember to renew your Allen ISD Volunteer Application for 2024-2025 when it becomes available online starting on July 1st. In order to volunteer at Norton Elementary or any Allen ISD Campus, volunteers must complete or renew their Allen ISD Volunteer Application for each school year. We encourage volunteers to complete this application before school begins so you are cleared for the beginning of the year volunteer opportunities.

August 1, 2024 is the first day to JOIN or RENEW your PTA membership for the 2024-2025 school year on the ptanorton.org website.

Whether you can volunteer for 1 hour or a half day, we appreciate your willingness to give your time to Norton. We have events throughout the year that need adult volunteers. For certain events, we ask that you sign up for one spot only in order to include more individuals. Sign ups are first come, first serve.

Look for sign-ups over the summer for these upcoming beginning of the year events and activities.

• Cheer at the 2024 Convocation Pep Rally, July 31st, 8:15 am - 9:30 am
• Decorating Bulletin Boards for Teachers
• Stock the Teacher's Lounge

NORTON'S MAY KNIGHT OF THE MONTH!
Congratulations to Mrs. Monet Douglas, Norton’s Special Services Resource teacher! As the Team Lead for Special Services at Norton, Mrs. Douglas has introduced many new ideas to improve systems and processes in her area. She has a gift of identifying the best approach to support her students' needs and her students have benefitted from her insightfulness. Let's all celebrate Mrs. Douglas for the positive impact she has made at Norton.
